FIR Against Samajwadi Party Leaders As Thousands Throng Vikramaditya Marg Office

Lucknow, January 14 (TNA) An FIR has been lodged against Samajwadi Party (SP) leaders after a large rally was addressed by Akhilesh Yadav, Dharam Singh Saini and Swamy Prasad Maurya at the party office on Vikramaditya Marg in the state capital. Samajwadi Party's rally though touted as ‘virtual’ had thousands throng the venue.,

The rally was held without permission and soon a police team sent to SP office and necessary action to be taken in this regard was ordered, Lucknow DM Abhishek Prakash said.

Naresh Uttam, the state SP chief however countered the allegations and said “It was a virtual event inside our party office. We didn't call anyone but people came. People are working abiding by COVID protocols. Crowd there even at BJP ministers' doorsteps & in markets, but they have a problem with us” he said.

Meanwhile the FIR has been registered at the Gautampalli police station for breach of section 144 and violation of the Pandemic Act.
