FIR Against Priyanka Gandhi In Lucknow For Violating Prohibitory Orders, Covid Protocol

Lucknow, July 17 (TNA) An FIR was filed against Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra by the Lucknow Police on Saturday for violating prohibitory orders during a sit-in she staged in front of the Gandhi Statue in Hazratganj on Friday, the first day of her three-day visit t the state.

The FIR against her and five other Congress leaders has been filed for violation of Sec 144 CrPC and COVID 19 regulations, during the 'Maun Vrat' observed by Congress' Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, state Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu, Dilpreet Singh and others. An official told TNA that there were more than 500 people with her and that this was a blatant "violation of the Covid protocol and prohibitory orders".

The Police had on Friday also confronted her with this logic and so when she was observing silences, had scribbled on a piece of paper that the same logic should have been applied during the Panchayat elections, which not only saw over-crowding at many places but deaths of hundreds while on duty.

Vadra on Saturday drove off to Lakhimpur Kheri where she met woman politicians who had been prevented by BJP workers from filing their nomination papers during the Block Pramukh polls held recently.
