Drug Smuggling Gang Busted By STF In Shahjahanpur, Charas Worth Rs 120 Crore Seized

Shahjahanpur, Nov 16 (TNA) The Special Task Force (STF) on Tuesday busted a drug smuggling gang and seized charas worth Rs 120 crores. The gang had smuggled the contraband into the state via Nepal. The operation was conducted with the help of the local police and the Special Operations Group (SOG)

An official said that these smugglers used to bring charas from Nepal and supply it to other states of the country. At present, investigators are busy in finding out the network of the suppliers. The police have recovered over 60 kg of charas from the smugglers, whose value in the international market is said to be around Rs 120 crore.

Among the smugglers caught by the police is Ram Bhulan Mitra, a resident of Lakhimpur, who is posted on the post of Shikshamitra, as well as Sitaram, a resident of Bahraich and Shekhar Thapa, a resident of Uttarakhand, are also included in this gang.
