Deoria Police Bust Illegal Weapon Manufacturing Unit, Two Arrested
LUCKNOW || In a major success, the Deoria police on Friday busted a gun-running racket. The factory was running in the Karhakol area falling under the Ekona police station area. A large number of home-made illegal arms have been recovered from the spot along with 8 manufactured countryside pistols, a single barrel gun, a revolver and a semi-manufactured weapon along with some cartridges.
The police have also arrested two smugglers, of which one is resident of Jhangahan in Gorakhpur. SP Shripati Mishra gave this information at a press conference. The SP said that in-charge Inspector Arun Maurya of Rudrapur was patrolling the Ramlakshan intersection with the police team.
On a tip-off the received from an informer, he reached there with the SOG. One of the smugglers was identified as Sohan Vishwakarma, resident of Gorakhpur. During interrogation, he told that Jairam Prasad, son of Ramkharath, who lives in Karhakol village of Ekona police station area, is an accomplice. On information, the police team raided Karhakol and arrested Jairam.
