Covid Cases Surge In Lucknow, Sunday Logs Highest Numbers After May

Lucknow, January 3 (TNA) Amid celebrations of the new year and the festive season, the Uttar Pradesh capital has logged a surge in Covid cases, officials say. On Sunday, 80 new patients of Covid-19 were found in Lucknow. This is the biggest increase in the number of patients in a day during the last six months.

On May 31 last year, 84 corona positives were recorded in the capital. The number of active cases of corona in Lucknow has now reached 278. In the last 72-hours, 187 new patients of Corona have appeared in Lucknow. Corona has also been confirmed in four children.

According to the information received from the Health Department, 14 health workers are included in the new cases on Sunday. Of these, 11 are from Medanta Hospital alone. Of the new cases, 19 have come out in contact tracing. Apart from this, 25 persons have returned from other states of the country or abroad.

Four other cases came to the command hospital. Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in eight members of the same family from Tiwariganj area of ​​Chinhat. These members have been found infected in contact tracing.
