Congress Releases List Of 125 Candidates For UP Polls, 40% Tickets Go To Women As Promised By Priyanka Gandhi
Lucknow, January 13 (TNA) Taking a lead over its adversaries, the Congress announced a list of 125 candidates for the forthcoming state assembly elections. The highlight of the list was that the party has given 40% tickets to women candidates.
It has also named Asha Singh, the mother of 2017 Unnao rape victim as its candidate. Former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar was convicted and jailed for life for the girl's rape.
She has been fielded from Unnao's Bangarmau
Rama Kashyap is the candidate from Gonda, Lewis Khurshid from Farrukhabad, Aradhana Mishra from Rampur Khas, Sadaf Zafar from Lucknow Central, Poonam Pandey from Shahjahanpur, Pankhuri Pathak from Noida, Nida Ahmed from Sambhal and Alpana Nishad from Prayagraj South.
