Congress Directs Its State Chiefs To Hold Three-Hour ‘Maun Vrat’ On Monday To Press For Dismissal Of Ajay Mishra Teni

Lucknow, Oct 10 (TNA) Buoyed by its success in putting pressure on the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh to finally arrest the prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence, the Congress is now upping the ante and is calling for the dismissal of the union minister of state for home, Ajay Mishra Teni.

And for this, Congress has directed all its state units presidents to hold a three-hour long ‘Maun Vrat’ (silence) on October 11. In a missive to all PCC presidents, the Congress high command has asked them to observe the fast of silence for three hours between 10 am to 1 pm, either outside the Raj Bhawan or any other union government office.

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is already on on such fast ever since he reached Lakhimpur Kheri a day back. While he had also vowed to go on a hunger strike if the accused were not arrested he broke the fast after Ashish Mishra ‘Monu’ presented hismelf before the Crime Branch of the Lakhimpur Police.
