Condition of Azam Khan Worsens In Prison, Being Shifted To Lucknow

Lucknow, July 19 (TNA) Condition of Samajwadi party (SP) leader Mohd Azam Khan worsened on Monday after which he is being shifted to a medical facility in Lucknow, an official of the Sitapur jail, where he is currently lodged informed.

He is likely to be admitted to the Medanta hospital in the state capital where he spent two months after his condition deteriorated after he was infected with Covid. He had developed many renal and respiratory ailments, following which he was in ICCU for a few weeks.

Last week only he had been shifted out of Medanta to Sitapur jail where he is spending time waiting trial on many cases. Ever since the BJP government came to power in the state, more than 80 cases have been slapped on the former powerful minister.

Sources said his oxygen level dropped below 88, forcing the prison doctors to suggest shifting him to Lucknow. D Lal, the prison doctor informed that his "condition was not good and it is advisable that he be shifted to a better medical facility".

His wife and lcoal legislator from Rampur had recently said that her husband was not fit to be taken back to the jail and had alleged a political conspiracy.
