Cement Businessman Shot Dead In Aligarh

Aligarh, December 28 (TNA) Car-borne miscreants shot dead a cement businessman and a government contractor, resident of Aliganj, Etah. A cement company official who was present in the car during the incident went missing after the incident. The police have taken the government gunner and driver of the businessman into custody.

The crime happened late on Monday night, in the city's busiest road Ramghat Road. Businessman Sandeep Gupta had gone to meet DIG Deepak Kumar on Monday evening. After the meeting, Sandeep came to his office near Ramghat Road Meenakshipul. Minutes later, Sandeep left in his Fortuner SUV to drop a cement company official at his Green Park residence.

At Gandhi Eye Hospital, Sandeep stopped the car to eat paan. His driver went for paan. Meanwhile, a young man in the car that came from behind shot Sandeep in the head. The second bullet hit the stomach.

SSP Kalanidhi Naithani reached the hospital and after some time DIG Deepak Kumar also reached the hospital. According to the police, the cement dealer who was in the car at the time of the incident could not be contacted yet. The gunner and the driver of Sandeep are being taken into custody and interrogated. MLC Jaiveer Singh also reached the hospital. The SSP has set up an inquiry into the matter. The CCTV cameras of the area are being scanned.
