BSP Heavyweight Shah Alam Aka Guddu Jamali Quits Party, Says Felt Neglected
Lucknow, Nov 25 (TNA) Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati suffered a major setback on Thursday as Shah Alam alias Guddu Jamali, leader of the BSP Legislature Party in the UP state assembly, resigned from the party.
Shah Alam, MLA from Mubarakpur in Azamgarh, was made the leader of the Legislature Party by Mayawati in June this year. Shah Alam has resigned from all the posts of BSP. In his resignation sent to Mayawati, She said he was doing this with a heavy heart for being neglected.
Guddu Jamali has won the assembly elections in 2012 and 2017 from Mubarakpur in Azamgarh. BSP had also fielded Jamali against Mulayam Singh Yadav from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat in 2014 where he got an impressive 2.70 lakh votes. Shah Alam had declared his assets as Rs 118 crore in his poll affidavit.
