BJP Veteran And Three-time UP Assembly Speaker Keshari Nath Tripathi Passes Away

Prayagraj, January 8 (TNA) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday lost one of its most towering leaders in the state as former state assembly speaker Keshari Nath Tripathi passed away after prolonged illness. He was 88. He was speaker of the state assembly for three terms and also held the important post of West Bengal and Bihar governor.

He was also once the state unit president of the BJP and was elected six times as an MLA. He had been in and out of hospitals for the past many weeks but had come home from a medical facility two days back only. But his condition all of a sudden worsened late Saturday night and he breathed his last at his residence on Sunday morning.
