Azam Khan, Son Abdullah Taken Back From Medanta Hospital To Sitapur Jail

Lucknow, July 13 (TNA) Rampur MP Azam Khan was on Tuesday taken back to the Sitapur prison from the Medanta Hospital, Lucknow where he had been admitted from May 9 in serious condition after being infected with Covid. Both the 72-year-old SP leader and his son Abdullah were being treated at the medical facility for Covid.

He was confirmed Covid+ On April 30. Khan Was admitted to Medanta on May 9 in critical condition

The former high-profile UP minister was taken back to the prison amid tight security. "Seeing the improvement in his (Azam Khan's) and his son's health conditions, they were discharged from the Medanta Hospital at 10.30 on July 13. He and his son are now fully medically fit," the hospital said in a statement.

Khan, his son and wife, the local legislator Tazeen Fatma were in the jail since February last year in connection with various cases slapped on the them by the incumbent BJP government in the state. The Allahabad High Court had in December granted bail to Tazeen Fatma in all 34 cases registered against her.
