Alt News Co-Founder Faces FIR For Revealing Identity In UP School Assault Case

Lucknow, August 28 (TNA) Uttar Pradesh Police have filed an FIR against Mohd Zubair, co-founder of Alt News, for allegedly revealing the identity of a Muslim boy slapped by classmates on a teacher's orders. The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights warned against revealing identities, as the video sparked outrage.

The teacher, Tripta Tyagi, made communal remarks and urged classmates to hit harder in the video. The father reported the boy was tortured for an hour and traumatized. Tyagi, the headmistress at Neha Public School, defended her actions, claiming it was necessary to "control" the children.

The incident led to the school's closure. After reluctance, an FIR was filed against Tyagi. District Magistrate Aravind Mallappa Bangari confirmed legal action would be taken.
