Allahabad HC Takes Suo Motu Note of Hathras Incident, Issues Notice To UP Government

LUCKNOW || In a big blow to the Uttar Pradesh government, already facing flak on the Hathras incident, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has taken suo motu cognisance of the Hathras rape incident seriously.

The court on Thursday issued a notice to the UP government, top government officials and the DM and SP of Hathras expressing concern over the incident. The court has also sought a response from the state government on the barbaric, cruel and inhuman treatment of the Hathras police with the victim.

The bench will hear the matter on October 12. Taking the cognizance of the issue, a bench of Justices Rajan Roy and Jaspreet Singh gave this order.

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court, giving very strict instructions on the incident of Hathras, expressed serious concern over the act of Hathras police and administration. The High Court has also sought a response from the state government on the incident.

Along with this, notice has been issued to the Principal Secretary Home, DGP, ADG Law and Order, Hathras DM and SP and they have been summoned on the next hearing.
