Allahabad HC Refuses Relief To Don-Turned-Politician DP Yadav, Dismisses Plea For Cancellation Of Criminal Case

Prayagraj, February 18 (TNA) Allahabad HC has refused to give relief to don-turned-politician Dharampal Singh alias DP Yadav. The petition filed against them demanding cancellation of the ongoing criminal case in the MPMLA special court in Moradabad has been rejected.

In the petition filed under Section 482 Criminal Procedure Code, along with the order dated December 8, 2020 of the special court, there was a demand for cancellation of the case proceedings. This order has been given by Justice DK Singh.

The case registered against the petitioner under sections 147, 352 and 341 of the Indian Penal Code and section 7 of the Criminal Amendment Act is at the final stage. The date for taking the statement of the accused is fixed.

Statement of some co-accused has been recorded. Statements of some are to be recorded under section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. In view of such situation, the court refused to interfere and dismissed the petition.
