Allahabad HC Expresses Displeasure Over Illicit Liquor Trade, Seeks Response From Govt In Two Weeks

Lucknow, June 29 (TNA) The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, while hearing the Public Interest Litigation of Advocate Satendra Kumar Singh, on Tuesday raised many questions to the public prosecutor. The High Court also expressed its displeasure over the increasing cases of spurious liquor in Uttar Pradesh.

The court has given a time to the public prosecutor for the next two weeks and sought a detailed information on what the government has done to stop the business of spurious liquor in the state.

The court said that the complete details of what the state government has done so far to stop the business of spurious liquor in the state, as well as how much action has been taken in such cases, should be presented in the next two weeks.

Apart from this, the court also said that the state government was directed to take appropriate steps to stop the business of spurious liquor. What action was taken by the government on that order of the court, response has also been sought from the court.
