Aligarh Hooch Liquor Tragedy: Gangster Slapped On 27 Accused, Illegal Assets Worth Rs 120 Crore Identified
Aligarh, July 4 (TNA) After the Hooch Tragedy in Aligarh and the infamy it got the state government, police has cracked down on the accused, a district police official said. In the case, Aligarh SSP Kalanidhi Naithani has taken action on 27 accused under the Gangster Act on Sunday, while illegal assets worth about Rs 120 crore of the arrested accused have been identified.
This information was given by SSP Kalanidhi Naithani. Earlier, taking strict action against 82 people, the police have sent them to jail. Apart from this, action has been started against the 5 main accused in the case under NSA and Gangster Act.
On May 28, 119 people have died after consuming spurious liquor in the Tappal and Akarabad police station areas of Aligarh. According to CMO BP Singh, so far the post-mortem of 87 people has been done, out of which 35 people have died due to alcohol.
The viscera report of the rest of the other people has been sent for investigation. The Intelligence Bureau has also questioned the people admitted in the hospital in this case. The number of deaths also continued to increase. BP Singh said that in this case a total of 13 people had eye complaints. All of them are undergoing treatment.
According to Sanjay R Bhoosreddy, Additional Chief Secretary, Excise, Uttar Pradesh, 'On the instructions of CM Yogi, now we have to break the spine of liquor mafia, if illegal liquor is found in any liquor shop, not only e will its license be cancelled but also blacklisted it in the entire state.
