Agra Police On The Roll, Kills Kidnappers Of Doctor In Gun Battle

Agra, July 22 (TNA) In a big success for the Agra Police, Badan Singh, carrying a cash reward of one lakh on his head, for kidnapping a doctor from Agra last week, and an accomplice were killed in a late night gun battle.

According to police officials, the encounter that took place in Kachpura of Jagner. The injured criminals were first taken to CHC Kheragarh and then brought to the SN Medical College where doctors declared them dead. The other criminal has been identified as Akshay Rathore.

Badan Singh, was wanted in the kidnapping of Umakant Gupta, a doctor and a resident of Trans-Yamuna Colony in Etmaddaula area, who was abducted by miscreants on July 13. A ransom of Rs 50 million was demanded.

Four Criminals Neutralised In Four Days
Agra police has been hunting criminals who have four miscreants in two big encounters in five days, while one miscreant has surrendered out of fear of the police. On July 17, Manish and Nirdash, two criminals who robbed the Manappuram Gold Loan Company, were killed in Etmadpur. After this, last night Badan Singh and his accomplice who kidnapped Dr Umakant Gupta were killed in an encounter. Due to this action of the police, a criminal Prabhat involved in the robbery had surrendered at the police station on Wednesday.

On the night of July 14, at two o'clock, the police had freed Dr Umakant Gupta from the thickets of nearly jungle. After this, the police came to know that the abduction was done by Badan Singh gang. A reward of Rs one lakh was announced for Badan Singh. On Tuesday, Badan Singh's location was found in the same area, but he managed to escape.

On Wednesday night again, the police learnt of his movement in Jagner. SSP Muniraj G, SP (West) Satyajit Gupta reached Jagner area with police teams. At half past one in the night, the police asked the miscreants in Kachpura to surrender but they allegedly opened fire and in retaliation the police teams opened fire, fatally injuring the criminal duo, an official told The News Agency.
