Prayagraj, January 13 (TNA)The Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela has embraced modern technology alongside human efforts to ensure efficient management and enhanced assistance for millions of pilgrims. The Energy Department has introduced a pioneering system involving electricity poles to help visitors navigate and address issues seamlessly.

Every electricity pole in the Mela area has been GIS-mapped, allowing precise geographic identification. Each pole is assigned a unique number, clearly displayed on it. Pilgrims can share this number with nearby police or administrative help desks in case of emergencies, such as being lost or facing other challenges. This enables authorities to locate and assist them promptly.

Further enhancing convenience, QR codes have been installed on these poles. By scanning the QR code with a smartphone, pilgrims can access a simple form to submit their name, contact number, and details of their problem. This information is immediately forwarded to the administration, ensuring quick response and resolution.

This innovative approach not only helps manage the massive influx of visitors but also provides a sense of security and guidance. By combining modern technology with traditional methods, the Kumbh Mela management exemplifies a new benchmark in organizing large-scale events efficiently, Urban Development Minister AK Sharma informed.
