AAP's UP Chief Spokesman Vaibhav Maheshwari Placed Under 'House Arrest'

LUCKNOW || The police on Friday placed many Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders of the Uttar Pradesh unit under house arrest and restricted their movements beyond the confines of their own homes.

Chief Spokesman of the AAP, Vaibhav Maheshwari confirmed the development to The News Agency and said four policemen had walked into his Gomtinagar residence and had asked him to stay put in the house until sunset.

"It is advised that you don't venture out of the home, you are under house arrest, orders have come from the top", sub-inspector Arun Mishra told the AAP leader, he claimed.

Around half-a-dozen policemen have been deployed outside his residence while more than four dozen cops, he informed, had reached the AAP office and have placed workers there under a kind of house arrest. The police and these atte government apparently are miffed at the AAP for their Thursday protest, very close to the chief minister's residence in the state capital.
