Prayagraj, January 2 (TNA) More than 340 million people have already come to the ongoing Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj and taken the holy dip in the sacred Ganga, and Yamuna rivers, Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said on Sunday. To arrange for the human needs of all these people and to ensure the safety and security of everyone as well as the smooth passage of each One of them is a huge challenge. To meet this challenge he said they have adopted new approaches, innovations and new technologies.

He also added that the tradition of Maha Kumbh goes back to the oldest times of human civilisation in India. However, This time, it is happening in India, which is Modern. It is happening in India, which is the fifth-largest economy in the world. It is happening at a time when India is the fastest-growing economy of the world. It is happening when India is digital India and has become an icon in the IT world and is known for adopting new technologies all over the world.

Sharma added that they are working for the organisation and management of this Maha Kumbh with that spirit. He believes that this is an opportunity to showcase India's soft power as well as its technological power to the whole world. With this intention, they have started the management of the Maha Kumbh with the aid of new and newer technologies.

Sharma gave a few examples like more than 250 water ATMs having been installed in the Mela area, from which more than 4 billion people have drawn water in the last 15 days. Through these water ATMs around 12 to 15,000 Litres of water is being provided to the visitors daily

Monitoring the Kumbh Mela is being done continuously from various control rooms especially the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) made by the urban development department at the Sangam. 2,700 AI-powered CCTVs have been installed throughout the Maha Kumbh area. In addition, a large number of drone-mounted cameras have also been put in operation.

These smart cameras track crowds in real-time and automatically pop up in severely crowded areas. This will help Mela’s administration in better crowd management. These cameras also help in getting augmented reality feeds for real-time monitoring of the hotspots of garbage, drinking water issues etc. These cameras also have the capacity of face recognition in cases requiring such inputs.

All 52 thousand-plus electric poles have been Geo-mapped with GIS Technology, and every electric pole has been uniquely numbered, and GIS mapped with QR codes put on them. This pole number itself, if given to the help desk, can tell you and your relatives or administration your exact location in the fair. In addition, if you scan this bar code on your smartphone and fill up a small form it will reach in our control room and officials will reach you in no time to help you. Thousands of people have used these poles to find their near and dear ones.

Sharma said that AI-enabled cameras, which are either stationary or have been mounted on motorcycles, are becoming our instruments to see that there is no garbage lying anywhere on the roads or streets of Prayaag City or in the Mela area. He said that continuous monitoring is being done by the control room of the Municipal Corporation. These AI-enabled cameras have been integrated with the CCTV network as well.
