Uttarakhand CM Meets PM Modi, Seeks Approval Of Many Projects For The Hill State

New Delhi, August 1 (TNA) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday and expressed his gratitude for his guidance and cooperation in the development of the state. He presented a local hemp fiber shawl, Bedu products and a replica of the Nanda Devi Rajjat Yatra to the Prime Minister.

The Chief Minister requested the PM to grant approval to the proposal of Dehradun Metro Neo Project in view of reducing the pressure of transport on the roads in Dehradun and providing safe transport facilities to the public. Expressing gratitude to the Prime Minister for the Allweather Road Chardham road project, the Chief Minister requested for approval of the remaining works.

He said that the Kathgodam-Bhimtal Dhyanachuli-Moranola-Khetikhan Lohaghat-Pancheshwar motor road is requested to be notified as a national highway in view of its usefulness for tourism/military traffic and general public. The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the increasing number of devotees in the mythological temples located in Manaskhand, about ₹ 1000 crore would be required for the construction work for the overall development of 16 temples in the first phase.

Dhami also requested the said amount to be made available to the State Government from any Ministry of the Government of India. The Chief Minister also discussed with the Prime Minister about various development schemes of the state and related to roads and transport and informed that works worth ₹ 250 crore have been approved by the Ministry of Road Transport from the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund.

Requesting the Prime Minister to approve the construction of Saung Dam, the Chief Minister said that this will solve the drinking water problem of Dehradun city by the year 2050. The Chief Minister also urged Modi to participate in the Global Investment Summit proposed in the state in December this year.
