Sonia Gandhi Names Five Leaders For Post-Mortem Of State Assembly Results

New Delhi, March 17 (TNA) After cracking the whip and taking resignations of state unit chiefs of Manipur, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Punjab, interim Congress president Sonia Gandhi has now initiated a post-mortem of the reasons leading to the debacle of the grand old party in the recently concluded assembly elections in these states. And to do so, she has appointed five senior leaders to oversee the post-poll situation and suggest organizational overhaul there.

According to information, Jitendra Singh has been named for Uttar Pradesh, where the numbers of the party dropped from nine to two, Rajini Patel for Goa, Jairam Ramesh for Manipur, Ajay Maken for Punjab and Avinash Pandey for the hill state of Uttarakhand. These leaders will interact with the newly elected legislators and important leaders in these states.
