Slight Spike In Coronavirus Cases, Death Rate However Dips In India

New Delhi, December 13 (TNA) There has been an 8% increase in the number of fresh Coronavirus cases in the country though the death rate has come down, officials said on Sunday.

According to the ICMR, so far 15,37,11,833 samples have been tested. On Saturday the number of new COVID cases in India stood at 30,254, taking the total figure to 98,57,029.

In the last 24-hours, 391 patients have died across the county and it is only the third time since July 2, that the number of deaths has been less than 400. Of the total cases in India, there are 1.45% active cases while the recovery rate has increased to 94.89%. The death rate is 3.66%.

Total active cases in India is 3,56,546 while 93,57,464have recovered and 1,43,019 have died of the dreaded infection. In the past 24-hours, 33,136 patients have defeated Coronavirus and have recovered.
