Six Devotees Killed in Fatal Train Accident at Chunar Station In UP’s Mirzapur

Lucknow, November 5 (TNA) A tragic mishap occurred today at Chunar railway station in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, where six people lost their lives after being hit by the Kalka Mail train.

The victims, devotees who had travelled for Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan, alighted from the train on the wrong side and attempted to cross the railway tracks instead of using the foot overbridge. They were struck by the train while crossing, leading to a fatal accident with severely damaged bodies.

The victims have been identified, including Savita (28), Sadhana (16), Shiv Kumari (12), Appu Devi (20), Sushila Devi (60), and Kalawati Devi (50). The Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police are investigating the incident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences and directed authorities to expedite relief efforts and provide proper medical care to the injured.

Union Minister Anupriya Patel, UP’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, also expressed grief and urged officials to assist the victims’ families.
