Shocking Ragging Incident In Kerala Medical College, Juniors Subjected To Brutal Abuse
Kottayam, February 12 (TNA) A horrifying case of ragging has emerged from a government nursing college in Kerala, where senior students allegedly subjected their juniors to extreme physical and mental abuse for nearly three months. Five third-year nursing students have been arrested for their involvement in the incident.
The case came to light after three first-year students from Thiruvananthapuram filed a formal complaint with the Gandhinagar police in Kottayam. According to the complaint, the abuse began in November 2024 and continued for months. The victims were reportedly forced to strip naked, after which their seniors hung dumbbells from their private parts. They were also repeatedly stabbed with a geometry compass and brutally beaten.
Police reports indicate that the seniors applied lotion to the victims' wounds, causing severe pain, and when they screamed, lotion was forcibly stuffed into their mouths. The accused even filmed the acts and threatened the juniors with career consequences if they reported the abuse. Following the complaint, the accused students were suspended and arrested under the Anti-Ragging Act. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the case.
