Rahul Gandhi Visits Family Of Oscar Fernandes, Condoles His Passing Away

Bengaluru, Sep 16 (TNA) Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday spent some time with the family of late party leader Oscar Fernandes. He also posted some pictures taken with the family members, all dressed in the mourning black.

In a heart-touching picture, the Gandhi scion is seen consoling the widow of the late Rajya Sabha member as she hugs him. "Spent some time with the family of Shri Oscar Fernandes Ji and paid last respects to him- a friend, a guide and a true soldier of the Congress Party" Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet.

Fernandes was the Union Cabinet Minister for Transport, Road and Highways and Labour and Employment, Government of India in UPA government. Born in Udupi on March 27, 1941, Udupi, the Gandhi family confidante passed away in Mangalore on September 13.
