New Delhi, November 27 (TNA) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the s Skyroot 200,000 sq. feet infinity campus and Vikram I Rocket. Skyroot Aerospace has taken a giant leap for India’s private space industry with the launch of its state-of-the-art Infinity Campus, a massive 200,000-square-foot facility designed to handle the complete lifecycle of launch-vehicle development.

From designing and building to integrating and testing rockets, the advanced campus is built to manufacture one orbital rocket every month—a capability that places Skyroot among the world’s most efficient private launch companies.

Founded by IIT alumni and former ISRO scientists Pawan Chandana and Bharath Daka, Skyroot has been at the forefront of India’s space reforms since 2020, when the government opened the sector to private players. The company made history in 2022 with Vikram-S, India’s first privately built rocket to reach space, marking a milestone in commercial spaceflight.

The Infinity Campus signals Skyroot’s ambitions to scale rapidly as global demand for satellite launches grows. Its next big milestone, Vikram-I, an orbital-class rocket capable of launching multiple small satellites, is slated for a 2026 debut. With a carbon-fibre structure, advanced propulsion, and a focus on cost-efficient access to space, Vikram-I is positioned to make India a competitive global launch hub.

With this facility coming online, India’s private space ecosystem stands on the brink of a transformative era one where frequent, affordable, and indigenous orbital launches could soon become the norm.
