One More Body Recovered From Landslide Site In Himachal, Toll Climbs To 13, Rescue Ops Underway

Shimla, August 12 (TNA) Sad news continues to pour in from the scenic hill state of Himachal Pradesh as one more body was recovered from under the debris in Kinnaur on Thursday, where more than 50 people are feared to be trapped after a landslide on Wednesday.

According to the local police the death toll now stands at 13. Rescue and relief operations are underway. The rescue teams have been able to sight some parts of a vehicle-an ill-fated bus which was taken down the gorge by the heavy boulders and soil that came tumbling down the hills near Nugalsari in tribal Kinnaur district.

Engine of the bus and a tire have also been recovered. Rescue operations have been hampered by the continuing landslides over the night, an ITBP official informed.
