Mayawati Expels Nephew Akash Anand From BSP Over Influence Of His Father-in-Law
Lucknow, March 2 (TNA) In a surprising political development, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Monday expelled her nephew, Akash Anand, from the party. The decision was reportedly influenced by the growing impact of Akash's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, on his political decisions.
Confirming the expulsion through a post on X, Mayawati stated that the move was taken in the best interest of the party and the movement. During BSP’s All-India meeting, it was concluded that Akash Anand had been prioritizing personal influences over party interests. Consequently, he was removed from his position as National Coordinator and relieved of all responsibilities on Sunday.
Mayawati emphasized that in such circumstances, Akash should have shown maturity and reflected on his actions.
The decision comes a day after he was warned about his association with Siddharth. Mayawati's post indicated that despite being freed from all roles, Akash did not display the expected regret or wisdom, leading to his expulsion from the party.
