In Big Blow To RJD, Long-Standing Lalu Aide Raghuvansh Prasad Announces Exit From Party

PATNA || In a big blow to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his close friend and long-standing associate Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on Thursday announced that he was parting ways with the party, with which he was hitched since its inception.

In a hand written note, Raghuvansh Babu said he has been with the party since 1997, when Lalu founded it, but that it was finally time to call it curtains. Not any more, he wrote to Lalu, from his hospital bed in Delhi AIIMS, where he is undergoing treatment for COVID.

"After Karpuri Thakur's death, I stood behind you for 32 years but no more," the 74-year-old stalwart of the RJD and former union minister said in the wrote, scribbled on a piece of paper. He also added that he was loved and respected a lot by the party and sought forgiveness. It is rumoured that once he is fit physically and is out of AIIMS, he will join Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (U).

This is being seen as a big blow to the RJD, specially since Bihar is just a few months away from elections of the state assembly. With Lalu Prasad Yadav in jail, serving a term for his involvement in the multi-crore

Fodder scam, the exit of Raghuvansh Prasad is all set to jolt the already tottering party.
