‘Homebound’ Is India’s Official Entry For Best International Feature Film Category At The Oscars 2026

Mumbai, September 19 (TNA) The film “Homebound” has been selected as India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 2026 Oscars. The announcement was made by the Film Federation of India, placing Neeraj Ghaywan’s Hindi drama on the global stage.

The film, starring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor, has already received international acclaim with standing ovations at prestigious festivals such as Cannes and the Toronto International Film Festival.

Backed by Dharma Productions and executive produced by Martin Scorsese, “Homebound” tells a poignant story about friendship, caste, religious bias, and the migrant exodus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The filmmakers expressed pride and gratitude for the recognition, aiming to campaign strongly ahead of the Oscars. The film is set to release in theatres on September 26, 2025
