Family Of Six From Sitamarhi Killed In Road Crash In Jaunpur

Jaunpur, March 10 (TNA) In a heart-wrenching incident in Jaunpur late on Saturday night, six people of a family were killed in a road mishap. Three persons, including a child, were killed. The injured have been admitted to hospital. The police reached the spot and took possession of the dead bodies.

According to the information, this accident happened at around 2.30 am on Saturday near the Prasad Kerakat intersection on the Jaunpur-Azamgarh highway in the Gaurabadshahpur police station area. In the incident, nine members of a family were going in a car from Sitamarhi, Bihar to Prayagraj to Jhunsi. As soon as the car turned from Jaunpur towards Kerakat, it was hit by a speeding truck coming from the front.

According to the police, Gajadhar Sharma, a resident of Sitamarhi, Bihar, along with nine members of his family, was going to Jhusi in Prayagraj in a seven-seater car to look for a girl for the marriage of his son Chandan Sharma. When his car reached Kerakat Prasad intersection at around 2.30 in the night, it was hit by a speeding truck coming from Jaunpur.

The collision was so severe that the car got dragged for about 10 meters. After the incident, the truck driver and the helper fled leaving the truck on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Anish Sharma (35), Gajadhar Sharma (60), Jawahar Sharma (57), Gautam Sharma (17), Sonam (34) and Rinku (32), All residents of Station Road Riga Police Station Riga, District Sitamarhi Bihar.

Among the injured are car driver Jeetu Sharma (25), Awadhesh Sharma, Meena Devi (40) and Yug Sharma (7).
