ECI Changes Polling Date For Rajasthan, Balloting Now On November 25

New Delhi, Oct 11 (TNA) The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday announced the shifting of the polling date for Rajasthan state assembly elections. In a statement, the poll panel said that the polling was scheduled for November 23, as announced at its presser on October 9.

It went on to sat that “representations were subsequently received from various political aprties, social organizations and the issue was raised in media platforms” that the balloting date be changed due to “large scale wedding, social engagement on that day” which may “cause inconvenience to large number of people, various logistic issues and may leade to reduced voter participation.”

Considering these factors, the ECI has now scheduled the polling day for Rajasthan on November 25th. The poll panel has also released the revised poll schedule, including filing of nomination date, withdrawal date etc for Rajasthan state assembly elections.
