Delhi HC rejects Plea Moved By AAP Leader Sanjay Singh Challenging His Arrest By ED
New Delhi, October 20 (TNA) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh was jolted by the Delhi High Court on Friday when it rejected the petition filed by him challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The lawmaker had contended that no explanation or reason was given for his arrest by the ED and hence the same shall be quashed.
High Court Judge, Justice Swarnakanta Sharma dismissed the petition moved by Singh and added that law is equal for all, be it a common man or a politician. He also said that his arrest was done under relevant laws and rules. The judge also stated that the investigation into financial irregularities and transaction was in primary stage.
The court later said that as of now, the court did not find it necessary to intervene in the process and hence dismissed the plea of Sanjay Singh, who is a vocal political leader of the Delhi ruling party and has been voicing allegations that PM Modi has done unlawful favours to businessman Gautam Adani.
