New Delhi, October 8 (TNA) The Delhi High Court has accepted the defamation petition filed by former Narcotics Control Bureau officer Sameer Wankhede against Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment, the production house owned by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan.

The petition concerns the Netflix web series “The Ba**ds of Bollywood,” which Wankhede claims has maligned his reputation by portraying him negatively and misleadingly, particularly in relation to the 2021 drug case involving Aryan Khan.

The court has issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment, Netflix, and others, asking them to file their replies within seven days. The matter is listed for hearing on October 30. Wankhede has sought damages of Rs 2 crore to be donated to the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital and has called for a permanent injunction to stop the streaming and distribution of the series.

The petition also raises objections to a scene in the show that Wankhede says violates the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act by making an obscene gesture after reciting “Satyamev Jayate.” Wankhede claims the series erodes public confidence in anti-drug enforcement agencies and is maliciously designed to harm his reputation while legal proceedings are still pending.
