Coolie vs War 2 Box Office Clash: Rajinikanth’s Film Faces Major Monday Dip After Record Opening

Mumbai, August 19 (TNA) Two big releases on August 14 — Hrithik Roshan’s War 2 and Rajinikanth’s Coolie — have completed five days at the box office. While YRF’s War 2 failed to create the expected storm, Rajinikanth’s Coolie managed to dominate the weekend with strong collections. However, as always, the real test began after the weekend, and Monday turned out to be disappointing for Coolie.

According to reports, Coolie collected only ₹12 crore on its first Monday, taking the India total to ₹206 crore. This is a sharp fall compared to Sunday’s ₹35.25 crore, marking a drop of ₹23.25 crore — a huge setback for the film. Despite this, the global earnings of Coolie have already crossed ₹350 crore in just four days, and trade analysts believe the film still holds potential to touch the ₹500 crore milestone worldwide.

But if collections continue to dip below ₹10 crore on weekdays, the film could face major hurdles in India. To stay on track, Coolie needs to maintain steady earnings throughout the week.
