Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Predicts BJP's Defeat In 2024 Elections Amidst Opposition Unity
Patna, August 12 (TNA) Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, has foreseen the downfall of the BJP in the upcoming 2024 general elections, citing the unity of opposition parties within the INDIA alliance. Kumar emphasized that the BJP is unnerved by this opposition unity and stated, “All of us have joined hands for the betterment of the country.”
He expressed confidence in the alliance, indicating that certain parties aligned with the BJP would switch sides once elections are announced. Notably, Kumar's party supported the No-Confidence Motion on Manipur, further highlighting opposition efforts.
In a veiled critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's absence from parliament, Kumar recalled the dedication of past leaders. He questioned the BJP's focus on publicity over development initiatives. Last year, Kumar severed ties with the BJP and subsequently partnered with the Rashtriya Janata Dal to become Bihar's Chief Minister once again. The JD(U)-RJD government marked its one-year anniversary yesterday.
Kumar's remarks were made in response to Bihar BJP president Samrat Chaudhary's criticism of the 'Mahagathbandhan' government. Chaudhary dubbed Kumar's politics as 'crutch politics' and accused him of symbolizing poor governance.
