Bhooth Bangla Sparks Massive Buzz with Record Advance Bookings Ahead Of Release

1 min read

Mumbai, April 16 (TNA) Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, is dominating social media and box office chatter with explosive bookings crossing ₹5 lakh gross on over 8,000 tickets sold nationwide, signalling a blockbuster Day 1 despite competition from Dhurandhar 2.

The film’s hype stems from its star-studded cast, including Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, and Asrani, reuniting Priyadarshan with Akshay after 14 years in a remake of the 1965 Mrinal Sen classic, blending scares and laughs in a haunted mansion tale.

Adding fuel to the trend, a song controversy erupted over “Ram Ji Bhala Karein,” accused of echoing Satyajit Ray’s “Bhuter Raja Dilo Bor” from Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, but Priyadarshan dismissed plagiarism claims, calling it mere word repetition like “deewana” in countless tracks and affirming the tune’s originality.

Viral interviews with Rajpal Yadav addressing rumours and YouTube reports of cinema chaos outside theatres have amplified the frenzy, positioning BhoothBangla as Akshay’s potential comeback hit post-recent setbacks. The paid preview on April 16 sets the stage for its full release, with fans hailing it as a “chamatkar” amid soaring expectations.
