BCCI Ends Deal with Dream11 After Gaming Bill, Future Tie-Ups with Fantasy Firms Ruled Out

Mumbai, August 25 (TNA) In a major move, the world’s richest cricket board, the BCCI, has terminated its partnership with fantasy gaming giant Dream11. The decision comes in the wake of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, which has raised concerns over money-based gaming platforms.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the development, stating that the board will no longer associate with such companies in the future. “We will not work with these kinds of companies going forward,” Saikia said, drawing a clear line after ending the ongoing deal.

BCCI’s association with Dream11 began in 2023 and was set to continue until 2026 under a contract worth ₹358 crore. However, the deal has been cut short, leading to financial implications for the board. Dream11, meanwhile, has reportedly had to shut down certain money-based operations due to the new regulations.

With the Asia Cup around the corner, the spotlight now shifts to who will replace Dream11 as the BCCI’s fantasy partner. Currently, My11Circle is associated with the board as an IPL fantasy partner, paying an annual sum of ₹125 crore. The upcoming sponsorship developments will be closely watched in cricketing and business circles alike.
