Badshah’s ‘Tateeree’ Pulled from YouTube Amid FIR and Summons Over Obscene Lyrics
Panipat/Chandigarh, March 7 (TNA) Rapper Badshah’s latest Haryanvi track Tateeree, featuring vocalist Simran Jaglan, has been yanked from his official YouTube channel following a formal summons by the Haryana State Commission for Women (HSCW) and an FIR for alleged obscenity.
Released on March 1, the song, penned and produced by Badshah himself-drew swift backlash over lines like “Aaya Badshah doli chadhane, in sabki ghodi banane” and visuals depicting school-uniformed girls in suggestive settings, accused of objectifying women and minors.
HSCW chairperson Renu Bhatia, taking suo motu cognisance after complaints from Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti’s Savita Arya and Shiv Aarti India Foundation’s Shiv Kumar, scheduled a March 13 hearing in Panipat, questioning censor lapses from her Film Censor Board days.
An FIR under IPC Section 296 and the Indecent Representation of Women Act was registered at Panchkula’s Cyber Crime Police Station, with full versions lingering on other platforms despite five million initial views.
Badshah issued an apology video amid #Badshah fury, but authorities probe production oversight as women’s groups decry its “negative societal impact.” The rapper faces potential strict action for breaching cultural and moral norms.
