89,129 New Cases Of COVID In India In Last 24-Hours, 714 Deaths

Lucknow/New Delhi, April 3 (TNA) The already surging cases of Coronavirus took a worrying turn on Saturday with 89,129 fresh cases of the dreaded virus being reported from across the country in the last 24-hours.

What has left the medical fraternity and the health ministry worried is the fact that a staggering 714 people have died in one day due to COVID.

In the last one day, 44,202 people were discharged after being treated for COVID. Health ministry officials said that as of now the country has logged 1.23 crore Corona patients, of which 1.15 crore have been cured. The number of active cases in the country os 6.58 lakh. The deaths so far due to the virus stand at 1,64,110.

On Friday 81,000 cases had been reported from across the country and the speed with which Coronavirus is now spreading in what seems to be the second wave has left people worried.

A senior doctor in the state capital said that the number of fatality cases are rising as people are ignoring initial symptoms and are being callous towards the protocol like social distancing, wearing masks etc.

Added to this the festival season of Holi, electioneering in some parts of India have added to the spike in fresh cases of COVID-19.
