Major Marijuana Consignment Seized In Bewar By Mainpuri Police

MAINPURI || The Bewar police on Friday busted a drug running gang and confiscated marijuana worth over Rs 20 lakh, an official informed. More than two quintals of marijuana was also seized. It was hidden in big sacks of spices along with turmeric.

Police have also seized a truck and car being used by the gang. The recoveries were made in a joint-operation by the Bewar Police and the Special Task Force (STF).

The gang leader Vishwas hails from West Bengal - Kooch Vihar and has been running the gang for past many years by supplying the contraband in Delhi and neighbouring areas.

He knows many languages and is fluent in speaking Telugu, Bengali, English, an official told The News Agency. The consignment which was captured by the police was being taken from Vizag to Delhi.
