Kabul, August 31 (TNA) The last soldier of the US military left the violence-hot Afghanistan on Tuesday, the last day of the deadline US had set itself for complete withdrawal from the country, where its boots were for more than two decades.

This also ended a brutal and expensive 20-year war, which has been America's longest. It started and ended with the hardline Taliban in power, despite billions of dollars spent trying to rebuild the conflict-wracked country.
