Michigan, August 14 (TNA) A devastating highway accident occurred Tuesday afternoon in Gilford Township, a rural area about 100 miles (161 kilometres) north of Detroit, when a pickup truck failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a van carrying members of the Amish community. The crash resulted in the death of six people and left several others injured.

Authorities reported that a total of 13 individuals were travelling in the two vehicles, with 10 occupants inside the van. Several passengers were thrown from both the van and the pickup truck due to the impact. The van was transporting Amish residents of the county with a hired driver, though details about their origins or destination remain unclear.
