Tech Layoff Tsunami: Microsoft, Google, And Amazon Slash Thousands of Jobs
New Delhi, May 16 (TNA) The tech industry is grappling with another wave of mass layoffs as major players like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, and CrowdStrike restructure their teams amid challenging economic conditions.
Microsoft recently cut 6,000 jobs across its teams and offices, while Google trimmed 200 roles from its global business team. Meanwhile, Amazon and CrowdStrike are also making significant workforce reductions as they realign resources.
Experts point to declining revenues and the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on workplaces as key factors behind these cuts. According to the layoff tracker Layoffs, over 61,220 tech workers have been laid off across 130 companies so far in 2025. As the industry adapts to shifting dynamics, workers face increasing uncertainty and job insecurity.
