Morocco To Host The 93rd Session Of The Interpol General Assembly
Vienna, December 2 (TNA) Morocco On Friday was elected to host the 93rd session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organisation Interpol, which will be held in Marrakech in 2025. The participants in the 91st session of the General Assembly of the Organisation, which is being held in the Austrian capital, representing 196 member countries, renewed their confidence in the Kingdom and its security institutions, by entrusting it with the organisation of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly.
The General Assembly, Interpol's highest decision-making body, is held regularly in the presence of the heads of law enforcement agencies in member countries, to assess global security challenges and new criminal trends, and to examine ways of dealing with them.
Speaking after the vote in favour of Morocco's bid, the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, expressed the Kingdom of Morocco's thanks to all those who voted in favour of Marrakech hosting this global event. He also emphasised Morocco's commitment to consolidating international efforts to combat terrorism and the various forms of cross-border crime.
Hammouchi also stressed that the Kingdom of Morocco and its national security services are fully prepared to host this renowned security forum under the best possible conditions, maintaining that Morocco provides constant support to Interpol and its member countries in their efforts to promote global security and stability.
During the presentation of the Moroccan bid, a video was shown outlining the progress being made in the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of King Mohammed VI. The video highlighted the various facets of modernisation and development undergone by the Moroccan security services, enabling them to occupy a pioneering position in the field of international security cooperation.
The choice of Morocco to host this world-class event also reflects the aura and image enjoyed by the Kingdom in its regional and international environment, thanks to the leadership of Mohammed VI, , as well as the credibility and great confidence in Moroccan security institutions, known for having accumulated significant experience and expertise in the fight against terrorism and organised crime.
