Liberia Reaffirms Its Solidarity With Morocco, Supports Its National Cause

Monrovia, Nov 21 (TNA) The Government of the Republic of Liberia maintains its steadfast position in support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Kingdom of Morocco. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on Friday, Liberia expressed concern about recent events in the southern provinces and supports the maintenance and preservation of the free movement of goods, people and services.

Calling for respect for the truce which has lasted for three decades and supporting the Moroccan initiative of the Autonomy Plan, Liberia said it aligns with the United Nations position for the search for a political and diplomatic solution to the Sahara conflict and recognize "the peaceful efforts of Morocco to achieve a lasting and peaceful solution under the aegis of the United Nations".

Libera took this opportunity to call on the UN Secretary-General to speed up the process of appointing his Personal Envoy in order to "give impetus to the peace initiative in accordance with the Resolutions of the Security Council".
