London, February 24 (TNA) Late Bollywood legend Dharmendra received a heartfelt tribute at the 79th BAFTA Awards in London on Sunday, featured in the emotional In Memoriam segment alongside global icons like Val Kilmer, Robert Duvall, and Brigitte Bardot.

The veteran actor, known as India’s “He-Man” for iconic roles in films like Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, and Chupke Chupke, passed away on November 24, 2025, at age 89 in Mumbai, surrounded by family.

Singer Jessie Ware performed Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were” during the segment at the Royal Festival Hall, hosted by Alan Cumming, and the clip went viral worldwide, moving Indian fans.

Dharmendra, with a six-decade career, including his last film Ikkis and collaborations with his sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, became the only Indian actor honoured this year, sparking pride and nostalgia online. Tributes highlighted his Padma Vibhushan award and enduring legacy.
