Israel’s Fury Unleashes Hell: 250+ Dead in Deadliest Lebanon Blitz

1 min read

Beirut, April 9 (TNA) Israeli airstrikes pounded Lebanon today, in what Israel described as its heaviest coordinated assault yet, targeting over 100 Hezbollah command centers, military sites, and infrastructure across Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley-all within a 10-minute window.

The attacks, launched hours after a US-Iran ceasefire took effect, killed at least 254 people (with some reports citing up to hundreds more) and injured hundreds, overwhelming hospitals and prompting mass evacuations amid thick plumes of smoke over Beirut.

Israel justified the strikes-dubbed “Operation Eternal Darkness”-as a push to dismantle Hezbollah’s operations, claiming over 40 operatives eliminated, while Lebanon decried the civilian toll in densely populated areas; Hezbollah had halted fire into Israel following the Iran truce. The onslaught has heightened fears of ceasefire collapse and regional escalation.

Iran accused Israel of violating the truce’s clauses, which Tehran insists include Lebanon and Hezbollah, while the Trump administration and Netanyahu insisted the deal excludes actions against the Iran-backed group. Iranian officials, including Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf, declared bilateral ceasefire “irrational” amid three breached points, with IRGC halting Hormuz shipping and hinting at withdrawal; Trump threatened escalated action if Tehran fails to comply, as UN condemned the “horrific” strikes and Pakistan-hosted talks loom this weekend. The onslaught has heightened fears of full regional escalation, testing the two-week truce’s survival.
